Socrative is a great way to use the students' phones and devices to submit their answers to one concise report on your computer.  You can open up a pre-made quiz or assignment and allow the students to enter their answers right into their phones.  You can write the problem on the quiz and/or add a diagram which will show on their screens, or you can have the students do it on paper and enter only the answers. Socrative compiles the results for you in a spreadsheet.

The teacher must have an account at t.socrative.com, but the students do not.  This makes it easier for the students to get involved.  All they need to do is go to the website (m.socrative.com), type in your room number (provided on your screen) and they will automatically be linked.  You can set it up to grade instantly or not, show the correct answer or not, enter answers at your pace or at the students' pace.

Pros

+ students do not need to download an app or set up an account

+ students can receive immediate feedback

+ very simple to use for teacher and student

+ answers can be multiple choice or text

Cons

- since students don't have to have an account, you have to trust them to enter their name correctly

- numeric and text answers must be exact (but it is easy to see the summary of their answers on the spreadsheet so you can tell that they just wrote it slightly differently)
