My Career
I’m so lucky to teach my favorite subject - Geometry. I have been teaching since 1993 and I have grown professionally in many ways over my career. I enjoy looking for ways to teach outside the box and finding ideas such as using music, dancing, and wearing costumes that help my students remember the concepts.
My Life
I grew up in Indiana, moved with my parents to Virginia and, finally, met my husband working in outreach ministry in New York City. Together we moved many times, including a brief time in Florida, but we are now settled in beautiful California. We enjoy riding our motorcycle on weekends and we have taken two cross-country summer trips on it. I also love to sing and play piano and flute.
My Technology Skills
That is why I am excited to learn more about technology in the classroom. Right now I am proficient in the use of technology for presentations. However, I am interested in learning more about technology which would be used by the students. I am enrolled in this program in order to learn about collaborative websites and phone apps for students to share their input, ideas and answers.
Since I've been in this program, I have learned of socrative and padlet, two great websites for student interactivity.
